Transferring Two-factor authentication to another phone
Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your account. By requiring a second form of verification in addition to your password, 2FA helps protect your information from unauthorized access. Follow the steps below to set up 2FA on your account.
How to transfer authentication code to another phone when using Google Authenticator?
⬆️ Export codes from Google Authenticator
1 - Expand the side menu
2 - Select the menu item “Transfer accounts”
3 - Select “Export codes” option
4 - Select “Ondato” and other codes that you want to transfer
5 - Press “Next”
6 - By using your new phone, scan the QR code.
How to do that, you can see in next section.
7 - Press “Next”
8 - ⚠️ IF YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY IMPORTED CODES keep the “Remove exported codes” option checked.
9 - Finish by pressing “Done”
Import codes to Google Authenticator
1 - Expand the side menu
2 - Select the menu item “Transfer accounts”
3 - Select “Import codes” option
4 - Press “Scan QR code”
5 - Scan QR code that you have generated on the previous section.
That’s all. You should see the imported codes in your main view.
How to transfer authentication code to another phone when using Microsoft Authenticator?
⬆️ Set up Cloud Backup on both phones
1 - Expand the menu
2 - Select the menu item “Settings”
3 - Turn on “Cloud Backup” option
It might ask to login to your Microsoft account. After doing that on both phones, it should sync and appear on both screens.
